Vivariums − the name comes from the Latin vivarius meaning ‘of living things’ − were originally used for studying small animals and insects. However the Victorians, with their passion for plant collecting, used them for recreating miniature habitats for rare, often tropical plants. Continuing the tradition, our two vivariums − their bases covered with moss and forest vegetation − provide the perfect settings for a Colombian anthurium and an exotic hot-house orchid.
